Caernarfon Castle is a massive royal fortification constructed during a Medieval conflict between the English and the Welsh. The castle, located on the banks of the River Seiont, is part of Edward I’s castle group, which also includes Conwy, Beaumaris, and Harlech, but Caernarfon is considered an architectural work of art.
This massive construction project took 47 years to complete and cost a whopping £25,000.
