Beaumaris Castle was built as part of Edward I’s campaign to conquer north Wales after 1282 in Beaumaris, Anglesey, Wales. The castle was most likely planned in 1284, but due to a lack of funds, construction did not begin until 1295, following the Madog ap Llywelyn uprising.
