If you’re looking for a North Wales hike that’s a little less well-known but just as beautiful, consider the Llyn Anafon walk.
The former reservoir now known as a lake is located 4.3 kilometers from the trailhead, making this hike anything but strenuous. An absolutely gorgeous valley between Foel Dduarth and Llwydmor Bach will take you down to the lake.
Relics of a prosperous rural culture can still be found in the valley. The wild ponies that used to roam here are now the only inhabitants.
Travel to Aber Falls and proceed straight ahead past the main parking area and down the single-lane road. Following the curving path’s narrow end, you’ll reach a more compact parking area.
