A Peaceful Retreat by the Sea: Our Stay at West Hook Farm Camping, Pembrokeshire
0
If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic camping spot in Wales where you can relax, take long walks, and enjoy beautiful sea views with your dog by your side – West Hook Farm Camping near Marloes in Pembrokeshire might be just the place for you. We recently stayed there in our motorhome and loved every moment of it.
West Hook Farm is a small, family-run campsite located just outside the village of Marloes, on the stunning Pembrokeshire coast. The site is simple, peaceful and perfect if you want to switch off and enjoy nature. It’s dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us, and it has plenty of space to relax without feeling crowded.
You can see the sea from most pitches, and if you time it right, you’ll catch both the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening – all from the same spot. It’s the kind of view that makes you stop and just take a deep breath.
If you’re looking for a relaxed, no-fuss campsite where the focus is on nature, peace and amazing coastal walks, West Hook Farm Camping is a fantastic choice. It’s affordable, clean, and in one of the most beautiful parts of Wales.
We’d definitely recommend it to anyone travelling with dogs, or anyone who simply wants to get away from it all and soak up the fresh sea air. Whether it’s for a weekend or a whole week, West Hook Farm offers a little slice of Pembrokeshire paradise.
One of the best things about this site is the direct access to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, one of the most famous walking trails in the UK. The path runs along the cliffs, with amazing views of the sea, hidden coves, and wildflowers growing along the way.
From the campsite, you can walk towards Marloes Sands, a beautiful beach with dramatic rock formations and golden sand. Or head in the other direction towards Martin’s Haven, where you can catch a boat to Skomer Island, famous for its puffins and seals (a must-see if you’re visiting between April and July).
Walking here is peaceful and not too busy, especially outside of the school holidays. It’s ideal for dogs too – ours had the time of their lives!
The village of Marloes is just a short walk or drive away. It’s small but friendly, with a local pub, a café, and a village shop. It’s a good place to stop for a meal or to pick up some supplies.
If you want to explore further, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is full of natural beauty. You can visit places like St Davids, the UK’s smallest city, or Tenby, a colourful seaside town with lovely beaches and shops. The area is full of castles, lighthouses, and hidden beaches to explore – perfect for a longer stay.
