Our last blog was packed full of delicious Welsh-produced food and drink Christmas gifts for every budget.
But what Wales has to offer your Christmas shopping doesn’t end there.
If you’re looking for non-food gifts then come with us for a whistlestop tour of the very best the country has to offer. All from the comfort of your sofa.
So grab a cup of Welsh tea, your shopping list and your payment card, and we’ll have you sorted in no time.
Candles
Candles are a popular Christmas gift – and with good reason! Lighting a candle of an evening can make your space feel cosy, and many give off a lovely aroma.
Check out The Original Welsh Candle Co, based in Cowbridge. You’ll find a whole array of candles in both glass jars and tins. Plus there are wax melts, diffusers and gift sets. We love the themed candles with Welsh greetings – and there’s even a coal-scented candle!
There’s also Handmade Welsh Candle which does exactly what the name suggests. Small batch candles in tins or glass jars, all handmade in Wales. We especially like the idea of the Black Plum and Rhubarb for a wintery scent.
Jewellery
We love Leigh Venning for handmade silver jewellery at great prices. Leigh lives in West Wales and incorporates locally found ethical sea glass into her designs. There’s also free UK delivery on all orders.
For something special, Rhiannon is a successful Welsh company which ships worldwide. Find not only Welsh Gold but a large range of jewellery, including earrings, bracelets, pendants and more. There’s also a design service for bespoke items.
Clothing and Textiles
Felin Fach boasts an impressive range of Welsh blankets. All hand woven in Welsh Mills and made in limited numbers, these beauties are guaranteed to keep the recipient warm through the cold dark winter!
It’s also worth checking out Solva Woollen Mill for not only Welsh handmade rugs, throws and floor runners but jumpers, hats and scarves too.
Finally, check out Adra for beautiful contemporary woollens – hats, snoods, scarves and gloves galore. Take a look around the site while you are there to view the large range of Welsh goods on offer.
Pottery and Ceramics
There are so many wonderful Welsh ceramics makers that we found it difficult to choose some to focus on.
Gwili Pottery is a family business based in Carmarthenshire with a 40-year history of handmade (indeed, hand-thrown) Welsh pottery. Everything is also hand painted so if you have friends and family who love unique, colourful items, Gwili pottery is for you!
Glosters is a family business in Portmadog. The married couple team create their own pottery and also stock a range of UK handmade pottery on their website – offering something for all tastes.
We must just mention Carys Boyle Ceramics. Offering regular pop-up shops with her latest creations, Carys features a whole range of small items which make perfect stocking fillers, such as reusable air fresheners. Do take a look at the Personalised section, especially the over 18 items for some cheeky fun gifts, too!
Bath & Body, Fragrance and ‘Smellies’
Everyone has to wash (well, we hope so!), and so special toiletries or smellies make a great gift.
Myddfai describes itself as offering ‘luxury toiletries and gifts with a social conscience’. Check out the range of bath, hair & body, skincare, and home fragrance products for something for everyone. There are some lovely-looking gift sets, too. A certified social enterprise which supplies many of the hotels across Wales, Myddfai provides opportunities for vulnerable people from the local community
Goodwash is another social enterprise providing luxury skincare and toiletries made with locally-sourced essential oils. Check out the range, including the hampers. There’s even a dog gift box for your four-legged friend!
For those soap lovers in your friends and family, take a look at the Welsh Valley Soapery. Founders Abi & Emma lovingly produce traditionally cold-processed soap which is sustainably made with essential oils. There’s body soap, shampoo and conditioner bars, and more. Perfect stocking fillers.
Spoilt for choice
Wow, there are so many amazing Welsh gifts out there for your Christmas shopping in 2022 and beyond.
All the suppliers mentioned are based in Wales and produce genuinely Welsh items. We hope you will consider supporting them, and the many other small Welsh businesses that we just didn’t have space to mention!
